Breath Work

Throughout history, different breathing techniques have been practised by Monks, Yogis, Military Officers, Martial Artists and Athletes to support them in their respective paths and all areas of life. 

 

Now it’s time to add Skateboarders to the mix of people whose path is enhanced through Breathwork! 

 

Everyone breathes to survive and everybody can breathe to thrive. Breathwork is a universal tool that is available to everyone. 

 

Breathwork consists of a variety of different breathing practices to support you through different functions in your life. 

Some of the ways that developing efficient breathing practices can support you include:

  • Increased body awareness,

  • Better blood circulation, 

  • Boosting the immune system,

  • Calmer and clearer Mind,

  • Decrease tension in the Body,

  • Enhanced concentration and focus,

  • Improves sleep,

  • Muscular and Cardiovascular endurance,

  • Relaxation,

  • Spiritual experiences, 

  • Stress and anxiety management,

  • Supporting muscle recovery and

  • Trauma release

Over the past 12 years, Nathan has learnt and practiced breathing in the disciplines of Pranayama (Yogic Breathing), Tummo (Tibetan) and Universal Healing Tao (Taoist). 

 

Nathan has taught Breath Work to school students and fellow Teachers in various Primary and Secondary school in NSW. In 2016 he completed an action research project to highlight the benefits of a Breath Work practice for students on the Autism Spectrum.
